Across the Desert to the Canyon of the Mukuntuweap

June 2, 2018

It's time to travel again, this time closer to home.

I haven't been to Las Vegas in 18 years. A lot has changed. I was there for business then, so precious little time for fun. All I remember was going on the roller coaster at New York, New York and going in the M&Ms store.

This time there should be just a bit more to do.

After Vegas, if I still have money and wits, I'll be headed to Zion National Park for hiking and maybe some peace and sanctuary, the biblical meaning of the word Zion. The park and monument was originally named Mukuntuweap in honor of the Southern Paiute Native American inhabitants. The Paiute word Mukuntuweap is thought to mean "straight canyon", "straight arrow", or "straight river." So the blog could have been named Canyon of the Straight Arrow.

Regardless of the name, it's a site I've had on my list for a while. I hope you enjoy the ride and time with me.

The adventure starts June 3, 2018 at an internet connected device near you.

P.S. If I see George Clooney or Brad Pitt, I'll tell them "Hi" for you! And I hope you got the other movie reference in the blog title. "Indiana? You are named after the dog? Hahahaha"
